The conclusions of these studies have informed the development of a consensus regimen for the use of cytolog for the abortion of a pregnancy within 10 weeks of gestation age. The optimal regimen to terminate early pregnancies is 800 micrograms of Cytolog followed 3-4 hours later with a second 800mcg dose of Cytolog followed 3-4 hours later by a third 800mcg dose (3 doses X 800mcg). These doses can be administered buccally (in the cheek pouches), or vaginally with equal efficacy. Notably, all three doses must be administered the same way. If the females use the buccal regimen, she must keep the tablets in place for 30 minutes at which point she can swallow any tablet remnants.

But, there are other protocols that appear to be as effective. This consist of the vaginal administration of cytolog 800 mcg followed by 24 hours later by a second dose of 800 mcg followed by 24 hours later by a third 800 mcg dose, inserting in the vagina till your finger reaches.
